The Tourism Faculty of the Havana University, invites you to participate in the 1st International Meeting of Tourism Students (EIET 2021), it will be held next May (26-29), as part of the events that brings together the 5th International Convention of Studies Tourist (CIETCUBA 2021).
The Meeting will be a space for exchanging knowledge and experiences among tourism students and other specialties related to the sector.
The central topics to be discussed are those that are mentioned to follow, however, the Scientific Committee will evaluate all the papers that are presented, even if they do not strictly subscribe to one of the mentioned topics.
Tourism and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The development of tourism in the geographical space.
Cultural heritage as a tourist resource.
The economic and accounting analysis in the tourism company.
New ways of sightseeing.
Design of products for tourism.
New information and communication technologies in tourism marketing.
Venue of the Event
The venue for the event will be Meliá Varadero Hotel located on the Hicacos peninsula. It is a 5-star hotel with facilities for events and meetings that has good reviews in the main social networks of travelers worldwide due to the quality of its services.
Participants in the event, in addition to paying the registration fee, must pay their accommodation at the hotel for the days of the Convention or, failing that, should pay a “day pass” for the days they wish to participate in academic activities.
The Organizing Committee of CIETCUBA is not responsible for the measures that the security of the Hotel takes with the participants who try to enter without having paid for their accommodation or the "day passes".

Forms of participation
Students of tourism (and related specialties) from different universities in the world may participate. The participation of colleagues, as speakers and as assistants, is accepted. The registration fee for Students, participating as speakers or only as assistants, is: € 95.00 Euros.
This registration fee covers: the documents and materials that are part of the accreditation folder, the participation in all the activities declared in the general program of the Convention and the specific program of EIET 2021 and for students who submit papers, the publication thereof in the reports of CIETCUBA 2021 and in one of the journals selected by the Scientific Committee for the occasion.
Students, in order to be recognized as such and can pay the indicated registration fee, must send a document to the Organizing Committee should be accredited them as a signed grade student and coined by the institution to which they belong. This document must be delivered in original at the time of accreditation and students who do not deliver it must pay the difference to complete their registration as a Professional Delegate (€ 185.00 Euros).
Payment of the registration fee
The payment of the registration fee will be made following the instructions that will be sent by the Organizing Committee after acceptance of their participation in the event.
The event will not have translations services. Nevertheless, the presentations and speeches could be in English likewise in Spanish.
Instructions to authors
The modalities of participation are:

The speakers may submit their paper requesting the modality of participation; however, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to define the modality in which each author will participate and will communicate it with the publication of the scientific program of the event.
The papers will be sent, from January 6, 2020 and until March 26, 2021. Participants will receive notification that their proposal has been accepted or denied from October 26, 2020 and April 23, 2021. Likewise, in this communication or in another subsequent one, they will receive the recommendations of the International Scientific Committee on the modifications to be made (if necessary) so that the work is presented at the event and / or so that it is published in any of the selected journals.
Accepted papers will be recommended for publication in one of the journals selected by the Scientific Committee for the occasion. However, for this, they must be unpublished, they cannot be published or previously sent to another scientific journal.
The requirements, structure and format of the work to be sent are the ones listed below:
1- The papers can have a maximum of three authors (including co-authors). Only the first three authors in the order of appearance will be recognized in the publication of the works, as well as for the delivery of the certificates.
2- The papers can be sent in English or Spanish.
3- They must have an extension of between 10 and 30 pages.
4- The sheets must be of “Letter” size.
5- Letter "Cambria" in all the text to size 12, except in textual quotes and footnotes that the font size will be 10.
6- The space between lines must be 1.5 and the space between paragraphs must be 0 cm before and after the paragraph.
7- The paragraphs must have indentation of 1.25 cm in the first line and the text thereof must be aligned in a justified way.
8- The margins must be 3 cm (left and upper) and 2 cm (right and lower).
9- The title should be written with a letter of size 16, in bold, in capital letters and should be aligned to the center of the page.
10- The summary will be written with simple space between lines and should contain up to 250 words.
11- After the summary the key words will be presented (up to 6).
12- The names "SUMMARY" and "KEYWORDS" must be written in uppercase and bold.
13- All keywords must be written in capital letters, without bold.
14- The titles of the sections and sub-sections of the text must be in capital letters and bold and cannot be numbered.
15- The works must also contain the summary in the other language. If they are written in Spanish, in addition to the summary in Spanish, the abstract and keywords in English and vice versa should be included.
16- The works must have the following structure:

g. Summary and keywords in the second language
17- The credentials of the authors must be in footnote, showing in concise manner the following data: maximum degree, institutional link and email.
18- The tables, graphs, figures, citations, references and bibliography will be presented following the APA bibliographic norms.
The paper will be reviewed by two evaluators (blind peer evaluation in pair) and if there are notable differences between both reviewers, it will be submitted to a third evaluator.
The reviews will be carried out taking into account the following aspects:
Regarding the form:
• Use of formal academic language
• Clarity and objectivity of the title and summary
• Quality of the translation of the summary in the second language
• Presentation and organization of work
• Accomplishment with the format described above
• Correct use of the APA bibliographic norm
Regarding the content:
• Study methodology
• Theoretical consistency (literature review)
• Contextualization of the object of study
• Theory-practice relationship
• Relevance of the text for tourism, travel and hospitality studies
